Introduction

Engage 4 Change is a project led by Streetlife working with 5 partner organisations with the aim to improve how the community sector in Blackpool works together and to have a positive impact on disadvantaged young people to whom there is little to no statutory responsibility. We aim to develop partnership working and extend the provision positively.

The Engage 4 Change project works with young people aged between 16-25, with the objective to help, guide and support them with their aspirations, goals and hopes. Then to encourage and promote steps into education, employment and Training.

Engage 4 Change is backed and funded by the National Lottery Community Fund generously funding the project for the next 3 years 2024-2027.

Purpose

Our purpose is to help young people take positive steps towards employment, education or training by building positive and safe relationships. Workers will give young people the opportunity to pursue their aspirations and goals, find new ways to dev elop their skills and address any issues and concerns they may have around their current lifestyle. As such, young people with develop their skills and start on pathways to education, employment or training, which in turn will improve the community and promote support services.

Working with partners, we aim to share practices and learning to maximise impact for local young people and assist staff to gain skills while working alongside specialists through a collaborated method. This method will fill a gap in an area where there is little to Non statutory provision.

Our four-outreach teams will pursue our purpose every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 12pm-3pm:

  • Claremont (April 2022)
  • Bloomfield (July 2024)
  • Talbot  (October 2024)
  • Brunswick (November 2024)
