Christmas is such a special time of year. It’s a time for family, friends and spreading joy. Unfortunately, many of the young people we support in Blackpool do not experience Christmas this way.
Instead, many of them will still struggle in the same way they do at other times throughout the year. But that’s where you can help!
We’re asking for small gifts to be donated that we can share among our vulnerable young people. Many of these gifts will cost less than £5, but they will have an immense impact.
Many of the young people who visit us over Christmas will also be experiencing loneliness, which can be extremely difficult to deal with. Being able to present them with a small gift can really put a smile on their faces.
Could you add a gift to your shopping list to make a difficult time of year a little bit easier?
Think about how happy you will feel on Christmas Day knowing that you donated a couple of gifts to help young people who are homeless.
Our work at Streetlife
At Streetlife, we do all that we can to ensure that our young people are safe, healthy and happy, but we rely on others for these special extras.
During the Christmas period, the vulnerable young people in our community will be able to access The Night Shelter. This is a safe space for them to stay warm, eat a healthy meal and relax.
We have eight bedrooms in the Night Shelter, all of which can be locked for privacy. Each guest also has access to shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Young people can wash their clothes, have a hot meal, and then access our services at The Base.
How to drop off your donations
All donations can be dropped off at our day centre, 48 Buchanan Street, FY1 3LQ.
We will be accepting donations Monday to Friday between 12 noon and 3:30 pm. All gifts must be donated by the 13th of December so that we can effectively share the donations with the vulnerable young people that we support.
We would massively appreciate your help with this year’s Christmas Wish List. We know that times are difficult for everyone, but we also know the huge impact that these small, affordable gifts will have.
If you’re not able to donate, please share our gift list with your friends and family to help raise awareness. We really do rely on the kindness and generosity of the local community. Thank you so much for all of your support.
