Streetlife teams up with Minute Shorts

This September, our young people participated in a very exciting project with Minute Shorts in partnership with the National Lottery & British Film Institute.

Teaming up with Minute Shorts

Screenwriter Rebecca Jones, originally from Blackpool, helped the young people at Streetlife develop their scripts. Rebecca currently writes for Netflix and has been working on the popular show Top Boy.

Janvier Wete, owner of Minute Shorts, has been involved in producing many projects, including Blackpool Grime. Janvier helped our young people to bring their stories to life.

At the end of this fantastic project, people were invited for a weekend of showcasing at The Regent Cinema in Blackpool. The results of the project were amazing, and it was a great opportunity for young people who are interested in the creative industry.

Streetlife is really proud to have been part of this project with Minute Shorts. It allowed our young people to develop skills and provided a creative outlet for them too. Additionally, it introduced a new cinema culture to Blackpool.

This is one of the best creative projects we have been involved in. Thank you to Rebecca and Janvier for all of your hard work throughout the project. It has been inspirational!

Creativity at Streetlife

We regularly encourage the young people who visit and stay with us to participate in creative activities, whether that be through art therapy or our creative workshops. There are so many benefits of channelling your inner creativity, and this project was enjoyed by everyone involved.

Check out our social media channels to see some of the great work created! Keep an eye out for our next collaboration!

Streetlife offers a shelter and base for vulnerable young people in Blackpool. We also run drop-in sessions and life skills workshops to support the futures of our young visitors.
