Earlier this month, the fantastic Rebellion Festival took place and raised over £3,000 for Streetlife! The Rebellion Festival Streetlife fundraising is organised by Blackpool Music Festival, who pulled out all the stops to make it one to remember.
This alternative Punk/Ska festival is held over six stages in the stunning Winter Gardens in Blackpool. Blackpool Music Festival is run by Jon and Victoria Bamborough and Brian Reddington. Together, they organised a Rebellion warm-up gig and a Rebellion Closing Party. They also had a stall at Rebellion selling CDs and vinyl they have produced to raise funds for Streetlife.
Donations from the fantastic bands
- One of the performing bands, Fire Exit, donated a Flying V Bass, signed by dozens of bands which was raffled, raising an amazing £600.
- Jay Wheeler from Love Artglobal raised £320 selling his LOVE Punk stencilled T-Shirts.
- £85 was raised from a signed artwork of Buster Bloodvessel donated by Mark Stevenson.
- £130 was raised by auctioning items donated by Brian Mitchell and Gerry Attrick.
Almost £1700 was raised at The Galleon via door donations, bucket collections and a large donation from The Galleon itself.
We want to say a huge thank you to Jon Bamborough, Victoria Bamborough, Brian Reddington, Sam Newiss, Jay Wheeler, Stephen Pierre, Gerry Attrick, Brian Mitchell, Luisa Palagona and the Rebellion team Daz, Jennie, Daryl, Alan, Dom and Wah Wah. Special thanks to Mark Turner and The Galleon Team and to Michael Williams, Lynda Baker and their team at The Winter Gardens.
