Summer Activity: Nicky Nook

Streetlife organise outdoor activities for young people on a regular basis, including residential trips.

This week, young people were treated to the scenery of Nicky Nook, a fell located on the edge of the Forest of Bowland.

Funded by Children In Need, workers Rachel (18 & Under Worker) and Craig (local volunteer), were accompanied by a number of young people, plus dogs Mia and Kaos.

The group travelled to the civil parish of Cabus, 16 miles away from Blackpool, to then embark on a 1.5 mile journey to the summit.

215 metres high, the fell offered an expansive view of the Fylde Coast.

Returning to ground level, which consisted of a further 2.5 miles, the group stopped in Scorton, for (well-deserved!) refreshments.

Many thanks to the Blackpool Duke of Edinburgh Open Award Group, for the usage of their kit.

Throughout next month, there will be three more outdoor activities. For more information on activities, check out our upcoming events here.
